Losing the Language

We were fortunate to revisit the Hawaiian island of Maui.  I had been sent there decades ago on a business trip, but even then we were able to get away for a few hours each day, learning why they call it, “Paradise”.  We found then all the descriptive words to be true; beautiful, friendly, exotic, all wedded together by the alluring accent of the folks we met.  So invocative was the sound, that after we returned home I called a business we had visited just to hear their voice.

Using God

The chief priests and scribes watched with consternation at the tumultuous welcome being bestowed upon Jesus as he came into Jerusalem.  The Bible says they were, “sore displeased”.  By the time they reached the temple many of the celebrants were children. According to Matthew’s Gospel it prompted Jesus to quote the Psalm, "Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings though has perfected praise."
